Episode 2
Channel [v] is a lot like the Pentagon. Information comes in, but nothing leaks out. Even their water coolers are practically password encrypted. And the cast and crew for Get Gorgeous IV are keeping all the show's secrets close to their chests.
But as promised, I've been schmoozing with the right people so I can bring you the skinny on the show.
So while VJ Pia and Elite Modelling Agency scout Sushma Puri are keeping their smiles glued on though hundreds of auditions, I, Valsa, your Gorgeous Blogger, got my hand on the top 50 short-listed contestants' applications!
I just started flipping through the stack and I'm already laughing pretty hard.
To get to know the girls better, Channel [v] got creative with their questions. I guess why ask someone how tall they are, when you can ask them what "the height of their beauty" is, right?
Needless to say, the girls came up with some "interesting" answers to the questions.
Here are some of the more amusing ones:
I've been this good looking since: Puberty.
Weighty matters in kilos: 49-51 Unstable! How weird that is?
Really Vital Statistics: Single
The first thing you will notice about me: It depends were you look but usually me.
Models must have these three basic quality standards according to me: Compromising, humbleness, altitude.
My take on fashion: Defines and gets a person naked on the outside.
Oh my…
After reading through all 50 applications, I'll admit that some of these girls are gorgeous and pretty smart to boot. I even think I have enough info here to make some predictions about who could go far in this competition.
Here's my personal short list (drumroll, please!):

Why she's a Valsa pick: A dusky beauty. She stands out with her inimitable bohemian inspired style and long black hair. She is also the lead singer of a rock band that won Channel [V]'s Launch Pad last year.
It's easy for me to judge from behind my laptop (and we'll see how far my picks go), but
I've really got to hand it to these aspiring models. They're brave to be stepping into the world of reality TV just for a chance at achieving stardom.
I am certain though that most of them have no clue what they are getting themselves into.
Though neither do I.
I'm finishing off this entry while I'm on the plane waiting to take off and get down to Goa to meet with semi-finalists. There's a kid sitting behind me who refuses to stop kicking my seat.
I just had a scary thought — Is this a sign of terrible things to come? I' ve heard that models are not very different from toddlers — prone to tantrums and impossible to reason with. What have I gotten myself into? I'm going to be living with models!
I wish I could have a room to myself. What if one of these girls decides to poke around in stuff or mess with my computer or video tapes when I'm not around? I'll be so busy that I might not even notice.
I know all about how girls can be mean and nasty. Sure, they can be fabulous, too — I have a sister and a bunch of awesome girl friends I love. But I went to an all girls boarding school. And competition can bring out the worst in people. There ain't no fury like a model scorned, eh?
I'm not going to panic.
I'm either going to have my patience tried, or if I 'm lucky, my prejudices challenged. Either way, I'm up for the task.
Next week: I'll share how things were going in Goa, what it was like to meet the models and live through the first elimination.

Hey Gorgeous Blogger,
well those questions are really tricky ? Why not asking them the answer to the ultimate question of Life, the Universe, and Everything…
You should have a philosophical conversation with them (and ask them to write a poem)… that can be funny
Cheers

I consider the second episode to be the start of the blog.Pleasantly surprised to see the blogger delve into the psyche of the contestants and reveal it this early.Spare a thought for these girls, with the whole world ridiculing them for their "dumbness",they get on with their jobs.If that is not professionalism at its best,I would like to know, what is?

dont see how they chose sarika, sneha, mizpah over lekha(5'11), aishwarya (5'9) and some other contestants from bombay whose heights i dont remember but were facially quite stunning compared to some of these girls.

Which band's lead singer is Rachel? She's really good but she's got way too much vibrato in her voice.
